I am especially grateful that my mother and I were accepted for membership in The Mother Church in 1898. We were privileged to receive the invitations sent by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, to the members of her Church to visit her home, Pleasant View, in Concord, New Hampshire, in 1901 and again in 1903. Her address given in 1903, now found on pages 170 and 171 of her book "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," wherein she states, "Trust in Truth, and have no other trusts," made a very deep and lasting impression on me.

I should like to relate a healing of arthritis I had a number of years ago. Because of the condition. I required help in dressing and in combing my hair. Having had class instruction and having studied our Bible Lessons, outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly, for many years, besides having read all our Leader's works, it seemed to me that I should have sufficient understanding of God, divine Truth, to overcome this discord.

I patiently read, worked, and prayed that it might be revealed to me what in my consciousness needed to be eliminated. Finally I found an article in the Sentinel which gave me the answer. The writer was having a similar experience, and in her search for healing she found she was harboring resentment, criticism, and condemnation. I found that I was guilty of this too, and I immediately started mental house cleaning. Soon afterward, I was permanently healed of the arthritis.
