Early in our study of Christian Science...

Early in our study of Christian Science the needs of an aged parent were being cared for by his children, and my husband was one of them. He was resentful that he was being asked to contribute equally with the other members of the family who could better afford to handle the expense.

One day he was awakened to the fact that since "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 13), then he must stop accepting abundance for others and lack for himself. Accordingly we lovingly agreed to contribute an amount equal to that of the others. This proved to be a turning point in our financial condition. Never again were we placed in a situation of lack, and our affairs have progressed ever since.

At one time I was suffering from an internal condition I thought might be a cyst. I had worked prayerfully to realize my freedom for the greater part of a day and night, but the condition became more painful. I studied in Science and Health our Leader's usage in regard to the two words "growth ' and "dissolve," and I gained a glimpse of the unreality of everything unlike good.
