RADIO PROGRAM No. 376 - The Light That Transforms Our Lives

SPEAKER: Sometimes even in broad daylight people feel they're in darkness, the darkness of mental turmoil. They feel a resentment against the whole world or some particular situation, and they don't know how to straighten things out. They think there's so little to be grateful for. But there's a power that can transform our lives, the power of the Christ, the divine Truth Jesus demonstrated, as our guest discovered. He's Edwin Rasmussen, of San Francisco, and he's going to tell us about it.

MR. RASMUSSEN: About twenty years ago I was completely disillusioned with the world, myself, everything. I'd become more or less an atheist. I beat my way around —school of hard knocks so to speak —thoroughly depressed. I guess I was something of an idealist, and I was resentful because I didn't have the answers. I thought nobody did.

Then I was drafted into the Army, and that made me even more resentful and rebellious. I didn't make out too well. I went down to one hundred and eight pounds and spent five months in a hospital. I was in pain most of the time from arthritis in my shoulders. Even as a boy I'd never been able to stand the cold weather and dampness, and Army life didn't help. Finally I was discharged on account of poor health.
