Signs of the Times
The Reverend W. C. R. Moore in a column of the Daily Telegraph Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
We call it a sin when someone does another an injury, and so it is. But we are not so quick to call it a sin when one fails to show to another a kindness which it is in his power to do.
Jesus teaches in a dramatic lesson this business of the sins of omission. In the Last Judgment He says to those on his left hand, "Depart from me, ... for I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ... naked, and ... sick, and in prison, and ye [helped] me not."
