It is a special privilege to have been brought up from childhood in Christian Science. My parents were Christian Scientists at the time of my birth, and this fact had particularly beneficent effects upon my life.

How often I have felt surrounded by a wall of love when danger of one kind or another has threatened ! Sometimes I was not aware of the danger until it had passed. How often too have I been divinely guided ! My relationship with my fellow men has nearly always been harmonious, and, in general, I have enjoyed good health. I had an unusually happy, untroubled childhood. I had no hateful — or even unlovely or evil — experiences.
