It was on March 4, 1935, that a small group of members of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, started the organization of a branch church in Lansdale. Their first service was held in the auditorium of the Conservatory of Music at 11 West Main Street on April 7. Then on June 1 a Christian Science Reading Room was opened in the Dresher Arcade.
