A healing which has always been a source of inspiration to me and which, I hope, will be helpful to others took place about twentyseven years ago. As the result of an operation, I was left in an extremely nervous condition and suffered from exhaustion and despair. I had been somewhat interested in Christian Science and had a copy of the Bible and of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. Then I purchased all the writings by Mrs. Eddy and began an earnest study of them.

My progress was slow because I had much wrong thinking to overcome. Christian Science practitioners lovingly stood by me and encouraged me to press on. I was beautifully sustained and able to attend to my household duties and to hold a very responsible part-time position for a number of years; but I was not completely healed.

During this time, however, I surely was being healed of many things. One healing was that of catarrh of the ear, and it took place two or three years before I was aware of the healing. When I thought of it again, I realized that it had vanished. I also learned to stop complaining and to rejoice. This must have been a great relief to my husband, who had been so patient with me.
