To relate all of the experiences that have come into the lives of the members of our family as the result of diligent study and correct application of Christian Science would fill man pages. Croup, nervous prostration, severe burns, heart disease, scarlet fever, pneumonia, and other difficulties have been healed.

Although I had used no medication in any form since beginning the study of Christian Science, whenever I thought of applying for church membership, this question would present itself: If some dire disease should manifest itself on your body, would you be willing to rely on God completely, or would you want materia medica?

I deferred applying for membership as I felt that it would be unfair to the Cause of Christian Science to be a member until I knew that I could trust God under any circumstance.
