HOW TO EXPERIENCE GOOD

The way to experience good is to see only good, to express only good, to be conscious only of good. God, the only Life, is infinite good; so we must accept and demonstrate the fact that only good has life— reality. In the degree that we are conscious of good, we bring it into our experience. As the Apostle Peter writes (I Pet. 3:10, 11), "He that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: let him eschew evil, and do good."

To fear evil, even to believe in evil, is to break the First Commandment, for it is giving power to something which God did not make. And it is believing in evil that keeps one from experiencing good.

A student of Christian Science seemed to be having one unpleasant experience after another. As he turned earnestly to Mind, divine Love, seeking the way to stop this succession of difficulties, he thought of these words from page 242 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality—to have no other consciousness of life —than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses."
