Christian Science has blessed me in so many ways that I feel an acknowledgment is long overdue. Forty-one years ago a friend aroused my interest in this religion by telling me of a healing which had been related at a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a Church of Christ, Scientist. I wished to know how it was brought about, and she told me to obtain the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which outlined the system of healing.

I borrowed the book from the public library and read it. As I read, I realized that if true, Christian Science, properly applied, would solve any problem with which mankind could be confronted. I read the book every minute I could spare from my duties, and I also memorized statements so that I could repeat them when it was not possible to read. I discerned that there were some simple rules which I could put into practice, and to my joy I found I could demonstrate them.

I wished above all to learn how to work out my own problems according to the rules of Christian Science. Eventually, however, I had to ask for the help of a practitioner because of a gathering in my car. The condition yielded very quickly after the practitioner began to work. In the years that have followed, Christian Science has never failed me, and I have not been tempted to use any other healing method.
