THE FIVE W'S OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

The five W's used so effectively in newspaper writing—what, who, when, where, and why— might be applied just as effectively to Christian Science. This Science is practical and rational and is demonstrable when it is understood. The five W's of Science help us to understand its simplicity.

To understand what anything is, one needs to know something of its purpose. The cause, or Principle, of Christian Science is God. One purpose of this Science is the healing of sickness and sin by the law of God, good, thereby demonstrating divine Principle. Jesus' healing of both sickness and sin was wholly spiritual, and the rule of divine Science is the same rule so effectively applied by Jesus.

This religion makes possible obedience to the command of the Master to go and do likewise. It exposes the illusory character of sickness and sin and brings to light the eternal reality of harmonious Life. On page 1 of her book "Rudimental Divine Science,'" Mary Baker Eddy answers the question, "How would you define Christian Science?" as follows: "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."
