It was through witnessing the overnight healing of unsightly warts on the face of a friend of mine that I began to study Christian Science. One evening, as he was shaving, I noticed these warts and the difficulty he had to avoid cutting himself, and so I said jokingly, "Why don't you use that Science you were speaking about?" He evidently did, because the next morning there was no trace of the affliction.

This healing made a deep impression on my wife and me, and we have gratefully studied this wonderful teaching ever since. That was many years ago, and we have both had many proofs of Love's direction and protection. While the way has sometimes been difficult, the lessons learned and the progress made have been most gratifying.

Soon after witnessing the above healing, we had to take our stand when we feared our baby daughter would pass on with pneumonia. We lived in an apartment block, and most of the young couples knew us and the seeming plight of our child; we felt a good deal of condemnation from many of them. However, we had the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and after the baby regained consciousness, she made rapid progress and experienced a complete recovery.
