I should like to tell of the joy Christian Science has brought to me. A member of our family had a wonderful healing in Christian Science. She brought me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to read to my mother, who was having trouble with her eyes. I read it to her gladly, but I did not understand it.

Quite a few years later I had an attack of something similar to hay fever. I tried every material remedy suggested and submitted to minor surgery, but I had no relief. While I was passing an office building one day with a friend who was not a Scientist, he recommended that I go in and look for a Christian Science practitioner. I did so and had my first prayerful treatment. Although not understanding this religion, I obediently went back two or three times, and I was completely healed, I then began to attend services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.

Not long after this healing, I took my mother, who had also taken an interest in Science, to visit her sister in another town. We were told that in that locality there had recently been an epidemic of dengue fever. The next Sunday morning I had the symptoms of this fever. I took Science and Health and went to the kitchen. I read through the breakfast period and perhaps for an hour after, and by the end of that time I was quite free.
