TENDING "THE FLAME OF DEVOTION"
The result of our continually turning to God for guidance is spiritual regeneration, individual salvation; and the effect in daily affairs is harmony and success. The more our thought is turned to spirituality, the more those activities which seem to be necessary parts of our daily living—housekeeping, driving a car, working at one's desk, going to school—become occasions to express God's nature.
God, Mind, is expressed in intelligence and alertness; Principle, Truth, in orderliness, in integrity, and in the persistent and impelling desire to demonstrate good; Love, in the tender attention to details and the thoughtful consideration and understanding of our fellow beings.
Workaday projects often are considered something apart from our expression of the divine Life, something which must be achieved before thought can be turned to the business of reflecting God. Yet this need not be so, for every right function and activity of mankind can be characterized by Godlike thoughts.
