ONE CREATION

The truth is dawning on human thought that there is but one creation, the spiritual, which is the handiwork of the one God. Christian Science makes clear the distinction between the kingdom of God, for whose appearing Christ Jesus taught us to pray, and the world, which he declared he had come to save. According to this Science, which proves its authority by doing the redeeming works of Christ, saving the world means restoring our sense of creation to its true meaning as Spirit's expression.

As long as we believe that the physical senses are real and respectable elements of manhood and do not realize that they are nothing more than the sinful Adam heritage of mortals, we shall be in the dark concerning creation. For the material senses perceive all things in a limited, mortal way; their views are not valid because they do not express the truth. Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 208), "Material sense defines all things materially, and has a finite sense of the infinite."

Material sense is mode of consciousness, a false way of looking at things, which in its perverseness would translate the perfect concepts of Spirit into limited, material beliefs. Obviously, one must view creation through senses which see things as God makes them: spiritual and infinite, hence immutable.
