"INCLINE YOUR EAR"
"Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live" (Isa. 55:3). Thus did God, through Isaiah, exhort the people. Idolatry was still prevalent. The prophet foresaw that the thinking of his people must be rededicated to the service of God if the nation was to survive. How essential it is today for mankind to heed this same advice and reaffirm their allegiance to God.
Throughout the world, nations are still lifting up the sword in a futile attempt to solve human difficulties. Christianity, however, is becoming an increasingly significant factor in the consideration of world problems. Despotic beliefs that life, intelligence, and substance are inherent in material forces are gradually yielding to spiritual facts of divine reality.
Collective thinking has its inception in individual consciousness. As human thought is enlightened and purified through the correct understanding of God and man, mankind will emerge into freedom from the bondage of racial prejudices and national hatreds. This awakening of the individual consciousness is the mission which Christian Science is fulfilling in the world today.
