I am becoming more and more conscious of the changes I have experienced since I became interested in Christian Science. Formerly I lived according to the law of an eye for an eye and was interested only in my own welfare. However, I have learned through Christian Science that in order to get, I must give and that no matter how adverse the situation may be, I still have something to give.

The good which comes from the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science was evident to me from the outset. I read of it in our periodicals, heard of it on the Christian Science radio and television programs, and found it all around me. As one of our hymns says (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 64), "The loveliness of Love is all around."

A demonstration of good is convincing proof of the efficacy of Christian Science. I have had several such demonstrations, and it is with a deep sense of gratitude and humility that I tell of the following one. I had smoked cigarettes for a long time, and when I realized they were injuring my health, I decided to quit smoking. After a few feeble attempts I managed to quit for ten months by sheer will power.
