Hallettsville, Texas (Society).

Dedication service for Christian Science Society, Hallettsville, will be held in the church edifice, Sunday, October 20, 1957, at 11 a.m.

In August, 1916, a small group of Christian Scientists met in a private home and began to hold Christian Science church services.

The following year the members decided to purchase a lot for the erection of a church building. Construction work was begun, and on May 17, 1917, the cornersone was laid.

The work progressed rapidly, and on October 21, of the same year, the first service was held in the new edifice.

In September, 1930, the members resolved to apply to The Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, for recognition as a branch of The Mother Church. This recognition was granted in November of the same year, and this organization became Christian Science Society, Hallettsville.

Application was filed in November, 1955, for a church charter, which was granted in January, 1956, and the society became incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas.
