Sincere gratitude for the many...

Sincere gratitude for the many benefits I have received during my years of interest in Christian Science impels me to send in another written testimony. My first one was printed in The Christian Science Journal for November, 1935.

Daily study with the Concordances to our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, helped me to establish a sense of harmony in my marriage relationship. I profited by the following statements from the Bible (Prov. 15:1): "A soft answer turneth away wrath," and (Prov. 21:23), "Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles." These and statements from Mrs. Eddy's writings helped me to be constantly conscious of my every thought and word, to speak kindly, and to do justly. Since then complete confidence, unselfishness, harmony, and hearty co-operation have been expressed in our home.

A few years ago a condition which I believe would have been called skin cancer appeared on my forehead and grew until it was larger than a dime. I declare the truth regarding this condition and had Christian Science work done for it, but it did not yield to treatment until I realized that I was holding a sense of resentment toward some people. I began at once to correct my thought, denying resentment any presence, power, or reality, because it does not proceed from God. As I continued to reject error, the skin condition stopped spreading.
