"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High" (Ps. 92:1). The following demonstration proved to me that the Word of God acts quickly and powerfully in producing harmony.

One Wednesday evening, after leaving the church services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I found that our car, a new model, which I had parked opposite the church and locked, had been stolen. A Christian Science practitioner, who had lovingly helped me in times of need, lived only half a block away, and so I went to her home for help and, at the same time, to make a report to the police.

The practitioner assured me that God is Mind, the only intelligence, that He knows all, and also that man is upright because God is Truth. In the city where this incident took place there was then a prevalent belief that the police were not particularly interested in looking for lost cars. Therefore it was necessary to understand that man is alert rather than apathetic.
