With gratitude I take this opportunity to acknowledge Christian Science as the final revelation of Truth, the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus. It has revolutionized my daily life and lifted me from the depths of discouragement. Christian Science has given me a renewed sense of health, enabling me to lead a busy life and to rear my two children, when at one time it had seemed I would not live to do this.

I had a most encouraging experience when I was a very new student. While using my electric sewing machine, I ran the needle through my finger. The needle broke, and one half remained in the finger. I was alone at the time and quickly decided that this was my opportunity to apply Christian Science. I removed the piece of needle and wrapped a scrap of material around the finger. Then I began repeating "the scientific statement of being," given on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. These were the only words from our beloved Leader's writings that I knew by memory at this time. This statement includes the words: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all."

The pain stopped; and I had an instantaneous healing, for I was at complete ease. My husband and small daughter came home a few minutes later, and I was about my work. The incident was not mentioned. This healing was wonderful to me because, a few years before, I had had a similar experience while sewing; and as a result I had carried my hand in a sling for three weeks, enduring much pain and inconvenience. I now realized that I had found the pearl of great price.
