The example of a Christian Science...

The example of a Christian Science co-worker at the office where I was employed thirty-five years ago implanted in me a firm desire to be a Christian Scientist. Later I found that my father had taken up the study of Science. He explained that Christian Scientists believe that God is Love, Spirit, that He fills all space, and that man is made in His image and likeness. He also gave me a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

I read the book at intervals for about two years, not understanding much of it. At that time I was troubled by a tumor and by a hemorrhage. As I read and absorbed the truths of Christian Science my thoughts became uplifted, and the tumor vanished. At this time I did not understand just how I had been healed.

Medical science offered me no cure for the hemorrhage. With the thought that if there was healing in Christian Science for other conditions, it was there for this one, I began diligently to study Science and Health. In addition I read the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy and some of the periodicals. After some time the hemorrhage ceased. The thoughts that stood out most to me in this healing were that God, Life, is the only power and that He fills all space now, will do so in the future, and has done so in the past.
