NO CONFLICTING LAWS IN HEAVEN
In God's kingdom there are no conflicting laws, no inconsistent statutes, no inequitable rules. Why? Because God is good, is One, and He is the only ruler, judge, and lawgiver. Mary Baker Eddy affirms in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 381), "God is the lawmaker, but He is not the author of barbarous codes."
In solving human problems, individuals may sometimes be confused by conflicting laws. It may be difficult for one to ascertain which statute applies to a given set of facts. Perhaps litigation is essential in order to determine what law really governs the case.
The recognition that there is actually only one law—God's law—the law of justice, health, goodness, and perfection, is a mighty influence in human affairs. The more one understands that gracious law and abides by it, the more closely his human life will conform to it, and the more he will enjoy the benefits of that law.
