Christian Science was presented to me about forty years ago while I was suffering from an attack of quinsy. A sister-in-law asked me to learn "the scientific statement of being," which is found on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and to try to understand what it meant. The result was that when the doctor returned expecting to lance one of my tonsils, all inflammation was gone.

I was grateful for this healing, but it was not until years later that I felt the need of attending Christian Science church services and starting our two children in the Sunday School. A short time later my husband was suffering from an infection in the head, which had caused partial deafness. He consented to my calling a Christian Science practitioner, who came to our home. All pain ceased almost immediately, and the partial deafness disappeared in a few hours. There was no draining of the ears as on previous occasions, and the healing has remained permanent.

All of the family's salves and pills were discarded at that time. Our daughter later experienced a complete healing of acute asthma. She is now a member of The Mother Church and is a Sunday School teacher in a branch church.
