The first healing I experienced...

The first healing I experienced in Christian Science was that of tuberculosis many years ago. After thirteen months in a sanatorium I was sent home and told to stay in bed for another year and to continue medical treatments regularly. This I did for six months. Christian Science was then presented, and I commenced to study. When I found hope in its teaching, my gratitude was unbounded and my receptivity so spontaneous that freedom from the tuberculosis soon came. I wrote the physician that I was discontinuing the treatments, and I resumed normal activities, returning soon to a position which was being held for me. Christian Science surely proved that, as the Bible says (Hebr. 4:12), "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword."

I have experienced healings, often instantaneously or within a very short time, of colds, pain, or injury by immediately applying my understanding of matter's unintelligence and of Truth's dominion over a lie. Christian Science alone receives complete credit for the good health and strength I have experienced since taking up the study of its teachings.

I should also like to relate a very satisfactory working out of the problem of selling our house. My husband and I felt that if it was right to dispose of our house, we should not have to experience the delay which so often goes with such a transaction. After engaging an agent we read and accepted fully the spiritual truths of an article in the Sentinel which made it clear that, as the Bible says (II Cor. 6:2), "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." The article pointed out that all we ever experience is what is happening now and that what appears as the past or future is only a mental picture in consciousness now.
