WAITING ON GOD

"When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path." Thus writes Mary Baker Eddy on page 254 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

Waiting on God is not a come-what-may-I'll-bear-it attitude. Waiting on God is understanding the power of good to be always present, everywhere. It is scientific mental alertness which denies the reality, presence, and power of evil. Waiting on God is using the power of good, which is available to all. It is the conscious recognition that good deprives no one, overlooks no one, excludes no one, because good is impartial, universal, and always operating. Good never fails, diminishes or changes.

Merely saying that God is good and that man is Godlike is not scientific waiting on God, though the statement is true. But to be conscious of and to act on the basis of the oneness, allness, supremacy, and goodness of God and to see man as His reflection, inseparable from Him, is scientific waiting on God; it is knowing, expecting, and doing good.
