My first testimony, which appeared in the Sentinel of January 28, 1928, told of my healing of an internal suppurating cyst, which had not yielded to fifteen years of medical treatment. This healing through Christian Science has been permanent, and so many other healings have since been added that I wish again to record my deep gratitude for some of them, knowing that someone will be encouraged and helped thereby.

My greatest blessing was class instruction, which has aided in bringing me safely through severe experiences. During the early days of World War II my mother, my sister, and I went to live in the country. When my sister passed on, I felt stunned at her loss and at the thought of the responsibility of caring for my aged mother alone. One night in my anguish I humbly prayed to God to comfort and sustain me with a healing message. I was holding the Christian Science Hymnal, and it fell open at No. 64. I read these words, which I knew were as true of my sister as of myself:
