THE VALUE OF THE WEDNESDAY TESTIMONY MEETINGS

The writer has always been most grateful for the Wednesday testimony meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist. Mary Baker Eddy instituted these meetings as well as the Sunday services From the very beginning of the writer's study of Christian Science, she received inspiration and enlightenment from regular attendance at Wednesday meetings. The spiritual message of the hymns was found helpful; the readings from the desk were listened to attentively with the expectancy that the spiritual means of healing would be made clear; the testimonies were deeply appreciated. Throughout the week, much thought was given to the remembered message in each testimony in an endeavor to understand the spiritual steps which were taken to bring about a healing. Slowly but surely the explanations became clearer as the light of the Christ was gained from those meetings and from the study of the Bible and our Leader's writings.

The willingness to carry forward Mrs. Eddy's revealed purpose for her Church will aid us in proving dominion over the arguments of conflicting interests or duties which may attempt to keep us away from church, or to obstruct our church activity.

In considering the welfare of the church, it is well to remember that there are no conflicts in the one Mind. Mind is the source of all right action and governs harmoniously and fruitfully the activity of its offspring. In the realm of Mind there are no interferences; there is no apathy, no lack of interest, no stagnation to obstruct progress. Understanding the law of Mind enables us to obey that law and to express loyalty to and love for the church. We can be assured that such devotion cannot fail to wield an influence for good in the family, in the neighborhood, and in the community.
