"Praise ye the Lord: for it is good...
"Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely" (Ps. 147:1). What better way is there of praising the Lord than through the opportunities provided by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, among which are the testimonies printed in our Christian Science periodicals?
When I was a baby the family doctor said that I had a diseased lung, and once every fortnight for ten years thereafter I was weighed and examined by him. I was dosed and pampered, and every winter I was wrapped in flannels. Later, on my account, the family was advised to move to a different climate, and they did so at considerable expense and inconvenience, but all to no avail. I grew worse, and as I became older a heart complaint developed. At times I was unable even to sit up and had to be pushed around in a wheel chair.
Later I became paralyzed, and the family doctor and specialists who were called in held out no hope for my recovery. Shortly before this, however, Christian Science had been presented to my parents, and they now decided to place complete reliance upon its teachings. The help of a Christian Science practitioner was sought, and in the space of only a few weeks I was able to walk downstairs unaided. It was like walking on air. For the first time in my life I felt really well. Not only was the paralysis overcome, but at the same time every trace of both the lung trouble and the heart trouble was completely eliminated.
