It is with profound gratitude that I give thanks to God for Christian Science and for all that it has meant to me and to my home. In the Bible we read (Ps. 103:2, 3), "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."

I have indeed proved that God does heal disease. From birth I had suffered from chronic stomach trouble, indigestion, and constipation. I did not dare to eat certain kinds of food, for they gave me great pain and discomfort. A dear friend told my family and me about Christian Science. We borrowed the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I earnestly commenced to study it. As I did so I knew I had found the healing Truth. In about one week I realized I was completely healed of the constipation. The stomach trouble and indigestion were also quickly overcome.

After these healings I experienced a badly dislocated shoulder. Although the pain was agonizing, I instantly declared "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of the textbook and tried to realize that man is spiritual, not material. The pain was still intense, however, and I was not able to lift my arm from my side; so I went to see a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner declared the truth, saving that there are no accidents in divine Mind and that as a child of God I was unfallen, upright, and free. As she talked to me of the truth as taught in Christian Science the fear that had engulfed me greatly lessened, and I was deeply grateful.
