About twenty-five years ago I had my first healing in Christian Science. For a number of years I had suffered from severe pain in my stomach, and at times the pain would leave me with a feeling of complete exhaustion. I could work but a little while at a time, and then I would have to lie down.

This condition went on for several years, and I finally went to a doctor, who took X rays. He told me I had ulcers and warned me that there was a possibility cancer would develop. He put me on a very limited liquid diet and told me I would have to give up doing most of my housework.

I had three small sons and my husband to care for, and I felt that somehow I would have to carry on. After about three weeks, however, I became very weak and discouraged. While visiting friends one evening I was asked why I did not go to a Christian Science practitioner that very evening. This I decided to do.
