GOD CONTROLS

[Of Special Interest to Children]

This is the true story of a little girl called Anne. Anne was very quick at everything she did. When she was talking she would speak so quickly it was difficult to understand what she was saying. She began to have lessons in speech, and she enjoyed these lessons very much; but her tongue did not go slowly. When the time came for her to stand up and say her poem, her tongue went even faster than usual. Anne loved poetry and did so want to be able to speak nicely.

Anne's teacher went to the Christian Science church in the town they both lived in, and Anne went to the Sunday School. One day after her tongue had gone very quickly her teacher told her that because God is All and controls all, her tongue, teeth, lips, and mouth were all under God's control. She told Anne to turn to God whenever she began to speak quickly and know that He controls His children.

Turning to page 171 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, Anne's teacher showed her these words: "Mind's control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science." Anne knew that Mind is God and that demonstrating Science means proving it.
