I have learned that when we apply Christian Science honestly and faithfully it never fails us. Relying on God as my only physician, sometimes with the help of a practitioner and sometimes with my own prayerful work, I have experienced numerous healings.

During an automobile accident I declared aloud, "Don't be afraid; God is with us." Six people were in the car I was driving, and the car went up an embankment, turned upside down, and caught fire. Although the windows had been closed and the broken glass was flying in all directions, not one of us was touched by it. We all came out of the car unharmed.

While visiting in Mexico I was attacked one evening by a scorpion. I became very ill, and it appeared that I was passing on. These words from the Bible came to me (Luke 10:19): "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." I was unable to get in touch with a practitioner; I could not think clearly, but I did know that man is the perfect child of the perfect Father. Another passage in the Bible came to me (Matt. 26:40): "Could ye not watch with me one hour?" This thought awakened me to watchful prayer. It was a glorious opportunity to prove God's allness. By morning I was completely healed, and there was not a spot or blemish remaining.
