Fort Lauderdale, Florida (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Lauderdale, will formally dedicate its church edifice, S. Federal Highway at S.E. Tenth Court, at three services on Sunday....

In 1910 four pioneer Christian Scientists in Fort Lauderdale began meeting in a tent on the north side of New River, between what is now S.E. Third and S.E. Fourth Avenues, to read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. After six months a hall was rented at the northwest corner of Wall Street and Andrews Avenue, and in 1913 a Christian Science Society was formed.... [The society became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Fort Lauderdale, in 1926.]
