WISDOM AVAILABLE TO ALL

Solomon , the son of David, became king of Israel when he was quite young. The Bible tells us that he asked God for the great wisdom that was needed to rule a kingdom. Because he prayed for a spiritual quality, and not for material goods, his wish was granted, and no king has ever been considered wiser than Solomon.

Most people recognize the great need for wisdom, but many consider it as the possession of a few and therefore beyond their reach. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, asks wisdom of all her followers. In the Manual of The Mother Church she says (Art. XXIV, Sect. 5), "God requires wisdom, economy, and brotherly love to characterize all the proceedings of the members of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist."

In the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy states (p. 275): "All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, immortality, cause, and effect belong to God. These are His attributes, the eternal manifestations of the infinite divine Principle, Love. No wisdom is wise but His wisdom; no truth is true, no love is lovely, no life is Life but the divine; no good is, but the good God bestows."
