HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS: February 12, 1955 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 73 - Actual Proof of God's Power

Ernest H. Lyons, Jr.

On this program Ernest H. Lyons, Jr., of Elsah, Illinois, told of his own experience, as follows:

My field is chemistry. At one time I was chief chemist for a manufacturing firm. Now I'm head of the Chemistry Department at a midwestern college.

In the chemical laboratory I have been healed and protected repeatedly through the understanding of God which Christian Science teaches. On one occasion when an accident occurred in the lab, I inhaled fumes of chlorine and phosgene gas. Although the exposure to these poisonous gases was severe, the effects vanished in a few hours just through my reading of the Christian Science textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. And I experienced none of the aftereffects usually associated with phosgene. The effects of serious burns, including those from boiling acids and caustics, have been completely and quickly healed, and I have experienced instantaneous relief from pain. At one time an explosion threw acid over my face and much skin was destroyed, but my normal appearance was restored overnight through the application of the scientific truths of Christian Science. I haven't a single scar from this accident.
