Severe buffetings of fortune had brought me to the brink of despair. My business undertaking was being ruined, my mental state was confused, and I was sinking further and further into depression and gloom. I decided to end my life and had made all preparations for this step, when I was led to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

I began leafing through it and reading. There was no end of comforting, uplifting, healing thoughts. They made such an irresistible impression on me that I gave up my intention to take my life. A way was opened to me which promised deliverance from failure in my business. I followed the inward voice and took the necessary human steps. Improvement followed immediately.

Thus the textbook saved me from great folly and gave me new courage, conviction, and hope. My business is again on the upgrade, and I am resolved to continue in the way of Christian Science.
