Mere words fail to express my sincere gratitude to God for Christian Science. Over thirty years ago I attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, for the first time and at once knew I had found what I had been seeking. But I was not ready to give all for Christ, Truth. I studied and used Christian Science only when my need was great.

After fifteen years of this kind of interest my need became great indeed, for I lost my sight and was in total darkness. Then I knew I had wasted the opportunity to learn of God and of man's relationship to Him. And I knew also that I would waste no more such opportunities. With the help of a practitioner I slowly regained my sight and was gradually able to read and study.

For a long time I desired to be a member of a Church of Christ, Scientist, but I did not want to give up smoking. Finally the thought came: "The only obstruction to this great good you so desire is your smoking. Why does it seem so important to you?" There and then it no longer did seem important, and I was healed of the tobacco habit. I joined The Mother Church as well as a branch church, in which I had the opportunity to serve, and later I had the wonderful privilege of class instruction.
