I should like to express my deep...

I should like to express my deep gratitude that for almost thirty years I have known of Christian Science. When I left England for Australia, I had one great desire: to find peace of mind. I was extremely nervous and fearful of many things.

After being in Australia a short time I became more miserable instead of feeling happier. But "man's extremity is God's opportunity." Through a neighbor I learned of Christian Science and began to attend a Christian Science Society four miles away, the only one within hundreds of miles. Then I found a Reading Room where I bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Through it I found the peace of mind I sought.

On one occasion our son, a boy of eight years, was taken quite ill during the night. We had planned a lovely trip for the next day, and he had been looking forward to it. But when morning came, he lay with his eyes closed and with no interest in what I said to him. As my husband and I were going to breakfast the words came to me, "Evil hasn't any power." This healing thought continued to be with me all the time we were at breakfast.
