It is with a heart full of gratitude to God for leading me to the promised Comforter, which Christ Jesus said would abide with us forever, that I give this testimony of the healing power of Christian Science.

A few years ago I was in such a deep pit of grief and self-condemnation that I longed for death, which seemed the only way out of my despair. Then through a friend I became interested in Christian Science, and I attended a Sunday church service. After the service I was led to a practitioner, who at my request immediately started to help me.

I shall always be grateful for the peace of the Reading Room, where I started to read "Science and Health with key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. When I read that it is Truth which heals I thought, "Why, then, if this book is the truth of God, and Truth heals, I should not need my glasses to read the words of Truth." I put away my glasses then and there. After about a year I realized one day that I had been reading easily without any strain and that I had never missed or thought about my glasses. My eyes were normal and strong and have remained to ever since.
