I have experienced many physical healings in Christian Science. A number of years ago I was healed of a severe illness, which had the symptoms of appendicitis and which was accompanied by a very high fever. I was also healed of rheumatism in the back and in the lower limbs. These healings came through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. With the help of the same practitioner constipation was overcome. A broken nose with a deep gash in it became all right in a very short time, and no scar remained. I have had a number of additional healings in Christian Science, including one of defective sight. All of them have been permanent. Christian Science has been my only physician since I became a student of it.

Through the study and application of this Science I have been lifted above extreme grief at the passing of a loved one. I realized that God is an ever-present help and knows nothing of sorrow and pain, that God is Love and sustains His own, and that sorrow and suffering are not real. Spiritual strength and comfort filled my thought, and in place of sadness, Truth brought joy and light.

Later I was confronted with the suggestion of separation from my dear one. With the help of a practitioner and my own affirmations of the truth, I gained a clear realization of true companionship and of the ever-presence and power of God with us. This enabled me to see that in reality there can be no separation and that my loved one was as perfect as she had always been and was continuing to reflect God and His infinite love. Mrs. Eddy writes (Science and Health, p. 259), "Man is not absorbed in Deity, and man cannot lose his individuality, for he reflects eternal Life; nor is he an isolated, solitary idea, for he represents infinite Mind, the sum of all substance."
