FROM ANNUAL REPORTS OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Leavening Public Thought

Kentucky

During the year covered by this report five ministers, representing four different denominations, made challenging comments on Christian Science in their sermons or radio talks. Upon visiting with each of these gentlemen, this Committee found an earnest, sincere, friendly, God-loving individual grossly uninformed or misinformed on Christian Science, and although we did not see eye-to-eye on various phases of our differing beliefs, we parted on a common ground of love and friendship, and with a greater respect for and appreciation of each other's religious interests.

Each minister was introduced to The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Quarterly, the Sentinel, and The Christian Science Monitor through an explanation of the office of each of these organs, and graciously accepted a copy of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for his library. In "Pulpit and Press," Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 22): "When the doctrinal barriers between the churches are broken, and the bonds of peace are cemented by spiritual understanding and Love, there will be unity of spirit, and the healing power of Christ will prevail. Thenshall Zion have put on her most beautiful garments, and her waste places budded and blossomed as the rose."
