In 1921 my husband and I traveled from the Middle West to the West Coast, seeking a cure for the many ailments with which I was afflicted. After a year and a half the condition was no better, but had become worse, and we moved to another locality. A neighbor with whom I had become acquainted asked me if I had ever heard of Christian Science. Then I remembered that an aunt of whom I was very fond was a student of this Science, and I had seen her do what I considered some very wonderful things.

My friend asked me if I would like to read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I told her that I would, and she lent me the book. I read it, and when I returned it to her, I said that I thought it was a very fine piece of literature, but that I had not understood it. She replied that if I would read it again prayerfully, she knew it would help me. I took the book home again, and while I was rereading it, the contents took on new meaning. Much of it became clear and distinct, and I could see that it was divinely inspired.

By the time I had finished reading Science and Health the second time I was cured of pyorrhea and carious jawbone. I was happy to acknowledge that the truth I had read had brought about these healings. Then I decided to study Christian Science earnestly, for I was much in need of healing of several other physical ailments. I am happy to say that these difficulties were quickly met, and since then many other disorders, including a mental sickness and nervous breakdown, have been healed. Arthritis in a severe form has also been healed.
