The study of Christian Science has brought healing and joy into my experience for many years. While motoring in a foreign country, my husband and I had many evidences of God's loving protection and guidance, proving the Bible promise (Ex. 33:14), "My presence shall go with thee."

Once we stopped for the night in a small, isolated village which had just experienced violent civil strife. My husband became so ill and felt such pain that he could not sit up, and he became almost unconscious. Fear overwhelmed me, for we were strangers, unable to speak the language, and there were no Christian Science practitioners there to call on for help. However, after I had read for several hours the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, a great sense of the nearness of God came to my thought, and I understood that we could not be separated from Him for one moment. Neither rugged mountains, strange beliefs, nor evil forces of any kind could keep us from the healing Christ.
