THE SIGNIFICANCE OF EASTER

At this season of the year thought turns instinctively and with gratitude to the greatest event of all time, namely, the resurrection from the dead of our Master, Christ Jesus. It is an event of glorious and far-reaching significance. Indeed it is a vital, practical, and perpetual necessity to the understanding of Christian Science.

The veil which concealed the eternality of life no longer hangs before us like a dark impenetrable barrier. It was rent by the Master's last and greatest triumph— the result of his glorious act of self-sacrifice and love. Through his proof of the eternality of life we find ourselves heirs to the kingdom of heaven, for without the understanding and proof of eternal life there could be no heaven.

The Master opened the gates of heaven for all men by overcoming death. He pointed the way that we must follow. In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 246), Mary Baker Eddy writes as follows: "Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof." How can we find out that life is eternal, and how can we "begin the demonstration thereof"?
