GOD AND MAN INSEPARABLE

A Great spiritual fact has been revealed to us in this age through Christian Science, and it is that God, divine Principle, and His manifestation, the spiritual universe, including man, are inseparable. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 465, 466), "Principle and its idea is one, and this one is God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Being, and His reflection is man and the universe."

The fact that God and man are inseparable has existed forever and was demonstrated in the life of Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, in the coincidence of the human and the divine. Jesus said (John 14:10): "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." Our Leader substantiates the unity of God and man in her statement (Science and Health, p. 554), "There is no such thing as mortality, nor are there properly any mortal beings, because being is immortal, like Deity,—or, rather, being and Deity are inseparable."

Since man is God's image or idea, he can do nothing of himself, not even live, know, or have being. Whatever human experience, event, or activity we may encounter, we should turn to the fact that in reality God and man as His manifestation are inseparable. The understanding that perfect God, including perfect man and universe, is all that exists, that nothing but perfection is actually real, results in harmony being manifested in our experience.
