THE EASTERTIDE

The bright day dawned;
Gone was Calvary's gloom,
And in its place there shone a golden light.

A vacant tomb
Proclaimed a risen Lord—
A victor over death's long, stubborn night.

In Truth he rose
To prove God's perfect man,
Whom mortal darkness cannot touch nor hide.

We raise our eyes.
Behold! Christ's light still shines
To show the glory of the Eastertide.
