With the deepest sincerity I humbly offer my gratitude to God, the Giver of all good, for the many beautiful healings that I have received through the application of Christian Science. My first healing was that of a stroke on one side of my face, which occurred while I was at work. My mouth was twisted to one side, and I could not move my eye. My supervisor asked me if I would care to go to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. I told her that I would, not knowing what a Christian Science treatment was or how it was going to help me.

The practitioner asked me to hold to the ninety-first Psalm that night. Obediently I went home and began studying. I studied until four o'clock the next morning. Then I happened to pass a mirror and found that my face was as straight as it ever had been. I was so filled with joy and gratitude that I called the practitioner to tell her what good had come to me, and we both expressed our gratitude for the healing power of God that had been revealed by Mrs. Eddy.

Another of the numerous healings I have had was that of kidney trouble. I turned wholeheartedly to God and was led to study this passage in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 373): "Disease is expressed not so much by the lips as in the functions of the body. Establish the scientific sense of health, and you relieve the oppressed organ. The inflammation, decomposition, or deposit will abate, and the disabled organ will resume its healthy functions."
