It is my desire to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science and for what it has done for me and my children. This Science was brought to me by my eldest daughter sixteen years ago. She wrote me that she had something to give me that I had wished for all my life. When she came she handed me Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and opened it for me to page 465, where Mrs. Eddy answers the question, "What is God?" From childhood I had longed to know the answer to this question, and here after all these years I had found it.

This knowledge came at the right time, for before long I was in great need of help. My father had passed on that year, and the next year my husband passed on also. My mother came nearly every day to comfort me, and I came to depend upon her very much. When she passed on I felt indeed bereft, but I learned to overcome my sorrow by daily studying the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and reading the Sentinel. I learned that I am never alone because God is with me every moment. For this I am very grateful.

Christian Science has helped my family many times in sickness and accident. When eleven years of age, my little daughter was struck by a truck and thrown from her bicycle. She was brought into the house and put on the couch, and many people came in to find out what was wrong. The thought came to me that when Christ Jesus found Jairus' daughter surrounded by people he put them all out. I put out those who had come, and then I called a practitioner. My daughter was healed in one week's time.
