OUR SAVIOUR

Our impersonal Saviour is the universal Christ, Truth, which reveals the divine knowledge of God, and of man's relationship to Him. The Saviour of mankind is the truth that man is God's incorporeal, intelligent expression, and that man is therefore sound, safe, and infinitely capable. Through the understanding of these truths mankind is saved from the belief that man is mortal and is therefore subject to affliction and frustration.

Our great example, Christ Jesus, so perfectly embodied the Christ-spirit that he is known as the Saviour. An angel, or spiritual intuition, from God, divine Mind, announced his birth to the shepherds of old in these words (Luke 2:10,11): "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Wherever our beloved Master went, the light of his Christlike understanding shone into the lives of suffering human beings and healed them. He proved to men their wholeness and competence by his discernment that in reality they were God's individual, spiritual representatives. Jesus' true perception of them caused those who were receptive to recognize their real spiritual nature, and thus they were saved from the claims of evil and limitation.
